Arianna Menciassi (Fellow, IEEE) ha conseguito la laurea in fisica presso l’Università di Pisa nel 1995, e il dottorato di ricerca in bioingegneria presso la Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (SSSA). Attualmente è professoressa di robotica biomedica presso la SSSA, dove è Team Leader dell’area di Surgical Robotics & Allied Technologies del BioRobotics Institute. Dal 2018 coordina il Dottorato di Ricerca in BioRobotica ed è stata nominata Prorettrice Vicaria della SSSA nel 2019. I suoi interessi di ricerca includono la robotica chirurgica, la microrobotica, gli organi artificiali biomeccatronici e le soluzioni smart per dispositivi biomedici. È un Editor dell’IEEE Trans. Of Robotics e della rivista IOP APL Bioengineering. Nel 2007, ha ricevuto il Premio Well-tech (Milano) per le sue ricerche sulle capsule endoscopiche e il Gonfalone d’Argento della Regione Toscana come uno dei migliori 10 giovani talenti della regione. Nel 2020 le è stato assegnato il KUKA Innovation Award.
Arianna Menciassi (Fellow, IEEE) received the M.Sc. degree in physics from the University of Pisa in 1995, and the Ph.D. degree in bioengineering from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (SSSA), in 1999. She is currently a Professor of biomedical robotics with SSSA, where she is the Team Leader of Surgical Robotics & Allied Technologies within The BioRobotics Institute. Since 2018, she has been the Coordinator of the Ph.D. in BioRobotics, and in 2019, she was appointed as the Deputy Rector of SSSA. Her research interests include surgical robotics, microrobotics, biomechatronic organs, and soft solutions for biomedical devices. She is an Editor for the IEEE Trans. of Robotics and IOP APL Bioengineering. She received the Well-tech Award for her researches on endoscopic capsules, and she was awarded by the Tuscany Region with the Gonfalone D’Argento, in 2007, as one of the best 10 young talents of the region. In 2020, she was awarded with the KUKA Innovation Award., nel 1999.
